You may note that a little further down the homepage there is an article advertising free room hire for club presentation nights at the Co-op Club on Preston New Road.  It was sent in by ex BFSFA referee Martin Rogers (Pictured). Unfortunately, we've received the very sad news that Martin suddenly passed away over the weekend at the age of 43.  Read on for more details.

Sportspy : News from the Divisional Cup finals - 13/05/2012

Sincere apologies but I have been unable to attend the two Divisional Cup finals at Fleetwood today due to junior football commitments.  In the Premier/Division 1 Cup final Poulton SFC beat Newton Arms FC 2-1.  In the Division 2/3 Cup final, Blackpool Lane Ends FC came back from 1-0 down to beat Division 3 side FC Kingsfield 6-1.  Congratulations to both. Don't forget that on Thursday night it's the Gledhill Cup final at Bloomfield Road between Poulton SFC and Parkside FC. (Kick off at 7pm)

Sportspy : Friendly request

Hi my names Tom and I play for a team called The Staithes and we play in the Mexborough and District League which is near Doncaster South Yorkshire. We are coming for a weekend away to Blackpool either Friday 20th July to Sunday 22nd July or Friday 11th August to Sunday 13th August and will staying in the Victoria Hotel on Charnley Road. We was hoping to play a friendly game while we was over there ideally on the Friday night so we had the rest of the weekend to enjoy ourselves. Look at your divisions i think either a 3rd of 4th Division side would be of the same standard. I dont know if you are able to arrange this for us or pass our details onto teams to see if this is possible. It would be much appreciated.
